
About the Artist
Morry Silbiger lives in Ardsley, New York. He first earned a BA in sculpture at City College of New York, then earned an MFA in sculpture and painting from CCNY. While a graduate student at CCNY, he was a founding member of the Pleiades Gallery which opened in SoHo in the early 1970’s. He frequently exhibited his sculptures at the Pleiades Gallery.
Morry apprenticed to sculptor Seymour Lipton, a welder, and worked on one of Lipton’s sculptures which is now displayed at Lincoln Center. From 1970 to 2007, Morry taughtFine Arts at Greenburgh’s Richard J. Bailey School where he received several grants for his Arts in the School projects.
Morry creates paintings in oils, acrylics and watercolors. He also creates stained glass and ceramics. His work has been featured in solo exhibits at ArtsWestchester’s headquarters, and the Pleiades Gallery (NYC). He has participated in group exhibits at New Rochelle Public Library and Tarrytown’s Jewish CommunityAbout the Artist Center.
For the past forty years, Morry has served his community as a volunteer EMT with Ardsley Ambulance Corps.
